Stuart Wilson – Senior Area Sales Manager
10th October 2024
We are pleased to announce that Stuart Wilson has been promoted to Senior Area Sales Manager for the South of the United Kingdom.
In a remarkable journey spanning 32 years, Stuart Wilson or Billy as he is known by so many has been a constant pillar of dedication and expertise at Palfinger UK, formerly T H WHITE Lorry Cranes. Starting as an engineer in 1992, Stuart’s early days involved hands-on work servicing, repairing, and installing Palfinger and Hap cranes at our workshops in Devizes, where at the time the Lorry Cranes division had only 16 members of staff.
Stuart’s role expanded in 1995 with the influx of more mobile engineers due to the increased volume of work for customers such as Cable TV, where T H WHITE Lorry Cranes would modify Epsilon cranes to suit that market, which eventually led to working with Palfinger Epsilon directly to develop the Epsilon grabbing cranes we know today.
Transitioning to sales in 2002, Stuart was given the sales area of Wales and the West Midlands, a move that saw him and his growing family relocate from Devizes to the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire where he still resides today. By 2019, his focus shifted more towards fleet accounts, drawn by the complexities of the bespoke builds required and his innate talent for nurturing enduring client partnerships.
Now, in 2024, Stuart’s unwavering commitment and wealth of experience have rightfully propelled him to the position of Senior Area Sales Manager. His journey stands as a testament to passion, persistence, and the impact of fostering lasting connections within sales management.
UK Sales Director John Saint commented: “Stuart’s new role involves managing key customer accounts and mentoring his colleagues in the south of England. He’ll be sharing his knowledge and expertise on builds, guiding them in creating the right customer solutions. It’s an exciting opportunity for Stuart to share his wealth of knowledge and experience ensuring the growth and success of our team in the region.
